As torrential monsoon rains continue to impact Pakistan, officials reported that at least 50 people, including eight children, have lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
The monsoon season, which lasts from June to September, brings vital rainfall to South Asia, accounting for 70% to 80% of the region's annual precipitation. While these monsoon rains are crucial for the livelihoods of millions of farmers and food security in the region, they also pose risks such as landslides and floods.
